I was just wondering who got the best deal on their Oasys. I am about two to three days away from purchasing and looking for a deal. You don't have to directly disclose price in your replies. PM, me with the best deals, where(which store), and what range I should expect to pay for it there. Thanks alot in advance.

I can't seem to get under $7500.00. My best deal so far is 7500.00 w/1gig extra ram/ 2nd day air shipping.

Are you looking for a 76 or 88 ?
I paid AU$7,000 for my O76 including extra RAM , keyboard stand and interstate delivery. that's about US$6,200. obviously the taxes may be different here in Oz, our GST/VAT/Sales Tax is only 10%, but it should give you some idea of pricing.
At that price the Music Store still made a nice profit judging by the smile on the guys face!

While places like Sweetwater are more of the mainstay OASYS dealer, weren't Guitar Centers moving out their stock? It seemed people were getting some great deals there.

Call Josh Dillon at Sweetwater Sound. He is knowledgeable and will give you an up to date Oasys and lots of service after the sale...all for a fair price.

I like Sweetwater but you are never going to get the lowest price from Sweetwater. Their service-oriented approach requires they focus on "the best value" versus "lowest price".

Thank you Jamie C.. Nice CD, also. I've gotten down to 7000 even w/shipping /w extra gig of Ram from four different stores. I'm happy with this price. It took intense negotiating. So I shall be joining the Oasys Ownership Ranks by Wednesday of next week. Thanks to everyone for their advice and help. Advice to those looking for a deal, No matter which store you go to Negotiation is the key.

Heya all,
Man i wish i would have seen this thread sooner. when i was calling around for my O i found out that they have something called a B-Stock model that they have used for a demo or something. and usually it takes about 1000$ dollars off the price.
But I got ....well, lets just say a 'bit' more off the price than that.
and also i just know that i got the best deal here!
Maybe this will still help

I got an offer today for $6935 w/ 2nd day air shipping and 1 gig extra of ram. I turned it down because I recieved a similar offer from an old friend of mind who works in a music store five minutes from my house. I would have never thought that the mom and pop store could give me the best deal. Oh yeah and he is going to train me also. Thanks again everybody.

At the end of the day, a store will usually take SOME profit versus no sale.
Also, a mom and pop store probably has ability to make any deal they want, as opposed to a chain store/big store which may have very strict policies regarding maximum discounts.

I got a new '88 for $6k because Guitar Center was discontinuing them. I also went in on Black Friday very early in the morning, getting an additional discount. There is a little saga involved with this. The unit was supposed to be new but it turned out to be used since I couldn't register it, no power cord was in the box, it had v1.2.3 operating system on it, and would not respond to midi commands. I returned it to the store and they promised to find me a new one, snce they had no more in stock. They had to order it from Boston and it took 3 weeks to arrive but it was indeed new. I am very impressed with Guitar Center customer service that they got me a new one with no hassle. I'm thrilled to have this great musical instrument for what I think is a very good price.

Do you know if they meant that the guitar center chain was discontinuing them.
