It's coming closer ... can you feel it ?

But jokes aside, i think this is gonna be interesting. The only backside of this thing is: EVERYBODY WILL OWN ONE !!! So THEY will all sound the same ...

Yes, I can feel it. Sort of.

They did absolutely nothing to upgrade Atmosphere and Trilogy soundwise since I bought them back in 2002. (I think it was then.)

And yeah, Atmosphere sounds great. But it eats up everything in a mix!

Same goes for Stylus RMX: absolutely great programming, but:

1. You sound like everybody else

2. Not much room for anything else.

Naah, when it comes to drums, I rely on GURU and BFD2!

BFD2 kicks ass. After I heard it, I sort of ditched my plans to get some real, DW drums...

Ask me in September!!!

While this is probably a fantastic product, there are many Spectrasonics customers (especially Intel Mac customers) who are dissapointed they have to wait until September to get Atmosphere for Intel Macs. There is the current "wrapper" but many say it doesn't work well, or requires too high a buffer setting.

I can only assume Spectrasonics has a very small software development team.

Your assumption is correct :) But for some serious synth/effects stuff, they're really good. As is Arturia at their stuff and Waves at their stuff.. :-)

Just played The Freddy version of Receptor with BFD2 inside... There is no way in hell I'm buying real drums for my studio after this, I'm getting this baby. It just sounds freakin' awesome. FXpansion meeting coming up tomorrow, finally another company that I can praise without hesitation :-)

Same here, the amount of feedback and support from the guys from FXpansion is fantastic, always quick to help, always there when you need them!! That's something that can't be said about most other developers, software or hardware...

(Although I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of KORG interaction on this forum when I got my Oasys. Not to mention the immediate help I received personally when an update went wrong. )

Questions for those who are familiar with BFD2.

(1.) How easy is it to use BFD2 on the fly? Spectrasonics seems easy to tweak on the fly. I want to know how and why this might be better.

(2.) Do you need a G5 to run it? Does anyone know the CPU (on a Mac) intensity?

(3.) If I had the new Omnisphere on a G5 wouldn't it be better to have Stylus RMX instead of BFD2?

Any info is appreciated.
