I was thinking that in the CX-3 it would be nice to add a 32' drawbar to some patches as an EX and I got excited thinking that EX would let me do this, but alas it cannot. It would be great to have that and maybe just define a drawbar 'x' semitones or hz from the fundimental.
Another thing is that Hammond made an X-77 which had the last 5 tonewheels cut to create a square wave (a B3 has 96 tonewheels but 5 are only for mechanical balance, uncut and unamplified). I know it'd be simple to do an analog patch along with a CX-3 but it would be cool to have square wave drawbars like the X-77 because it *screams*.

Re: Custom EX Drawbars
These are interesting ideas - thanks! In particular, it seems like we should be able to specify lower pitches for the EX drawbars.ryan42 wrote:I was thinking that in the CX-3 it would be nice to add a 32' drawbar to some patches as an EX and I got excited thinking that EX would let me do this, but alas it cannot. Re: Custom EX Drawbars
In the case Korg will consider to "refresh" the CX3 module, it would be nice to have the possibility to disable the drawbars foldback and to have the polyphonic percussion effect, just like the little console models of the transistor era.danatkorg wrote:

Re: Custom EX Drawbars
If you disabled foldback, would you want the affected drawbars to just go silent?tonybanks wrote:In the case Korg will consider to "refresh" the CX3 module, it would be nice to have the possibility to disable the drawbars foldback and to have the polyphonic percussion effect, just like the little console models of the transistor era.danatkorg wrote:

What exactly happens is that some drawbars will not sound on the entire keyboard extension (in other words there are no completely muted drawbars)
This is what happens on the spinet models such L, M and T series.
The sound that comes out playing the extreme keyboard zones is thinner than in A100/B3/C3 models.
The spinet organs do not have the foldback because the harmonics which are folded-back on A/B/C organs are just missing on the spinets.
However, this peculiarity, added to the avalaibility of other odd percussions (-on T models- which can be simulated with the EX percussions on the CX3 module) makes those organs to have their own sound, which is different from the one of the bigger models.
If I am not wrong, the last Suzuki-Hammond clone organ has the possibility to turn off the foldback (and also to adjust the tone /volume for each of the 91 simulated wheels)

Two more cents on this: when you turn to its maximum the PERC pot placed on the pre-amp of an hammond B3/C3/A100, the percussion will not decay but instead it will sustain till the key is held down.
This also would be useful on the Oasys' organ module.
It could be done in the way that decay value 99 means..........sustain.
