IS $900 A GOOD PRICE ON A "USED" TRITON EXTREME 76

Hi everybody....Brand new member here
I recently put a "used" TRITON EXTREME 76 on layaway at GUITAR CENTER for $900....No moss expansion added and just the 16 MB of Ram for a sampler I'll probably never use....A couple of cosmetic scratches is about it...Serial #879
Is this a good deal for a discontinued item????
I've been going back and forth whether I made a good decision...But $900 ($979 with tax and stand)is basically my budget...i could go to $1500 but wasn't sure if I could find a comparable 76 key unit...let alone 61 key unit ..(BTW tonight they had a floor model ROLAND FATHOM X6 for $1300 and I thought the action wasn't as good as the EXTREME plus it was 61 keys and passed on the oppotyunity for a new unit vs. used)
Please advise........

Heres my view. I just bought a triton extreme 61 for the double price - same specs. OK it's in europe and the USD is all time low, but $900 is still a pretty good deal. Now you could argue that it's discontinued, but that only underlines that theres alot of downloadable patches available all over the internet. Theres gonna be some years before you find the same amount for M3.
I'd go for that extreme:) - it's gonna rock your world!
BTW I actually like the tube

I thought it was only for show, but it really makes leads, brass and organs more fatter and well just nicer all around!
Another thing... Why Roland? To me Korg is the king of workstations and the sound is much softer and pleasent. Roland is like this tall ugly woman always shouting and screaming

its clearly used and possibly a consignment/trade-in
#879 is an old #. About 4 years old. My Ex76 is # 502, 4 years old.
$900 is actually too cheap. I would ask for a 60 day $$$ back guaranty
if you are not happy. you don't know the history on the Ex from GC

900$ is way cheaper then it has to be, i dont really wanna go over the limits
but on a good condition even doubble wouldnt be enough, 1800$.
EX61 still sells at 1500$.

Sorry guys I thought maybe I mis-led you guys...
Yeah 30 day cash back fro GUITAR CENTER...AND I'M FAMOUS FOR BRINGING ITEMS BACK WITH THEM
they have a floor model ROLAND FANTOM 61 X6 key for $1300 plus tax which i looked at long and hard...the new ones sell for $1995...PLUS THERE IS A $200 rebate offer from ROLAND WHICH THEY SAY WORKS WITH THE FLOOR MODEL...SO I'LL REALLY PAY ONLY $1100 if I exchange it
On the Fantom I kinda like the screen upright on it...but its "ONLY" 61 keys...full warranty...looks like some sort of drum machine type thing...and it has internal sequencer memory....
I'm struggling a little here with the sequencer IN THE TRITON EXTREME...tHE CORNER TOUCHSCREEN DOESN'T ALWAYS RESPOND UNLESS I USE A PEN...
BUT YES I HAVE 30 DAYS CASH BACK

do not type in caps
Do not use a pen with the touchscreen, only use your fingers
If you puncture the touchscreen, you have a huge bill
You can adjust the responsiveness of the Touchscreen- go to pg 131 of the Ops manual
or go to Global/mode P, ) or zero, look for Touch Panel calibration
Don't have the manual ? d/l it from Korg .com

The ONLY positive about the fantom is the color screen. The drum pads are available on many controllers.
Muddy sounds, fewer effects..it's terrible.
The Fantom G (not X) has a massive color screen....but...it still isn't touch-sensitive? What year is Roland living in?
Granted, the use of a mouse is a fantastic idea.. but I still want my touchscreen, damnit! Though I am actually fairly impressed by the stock sounds (which don't mean s**t).
In any case, I'd stick the Extreme and supplement that with a nice analog board like a microKORG, Alesis ION, or Andromeda (if you can afford it). The Moog Little Phatty is also a great board at an incredible price!
