Just an improv I may use

Post by ellll »

Friends,

Did the electronics, first...but they are only to about 1:40..then drop out. (whole things 4:40...) then I played the ("piano") with it..just improvising the idea. However: Let me know about the idea for the first min. or so...and listen to a bit of the piano later..(few arps, trills..in the great key of F#M) Has some notes too strong, no edits done. Just want to know if the ("piano") is "brighter". (I know the concert hall FX is too much...)If I develop, will be: "Route 102"..an Eastern New Mex. hiway, very lonely and in ways strange, a bit desert..

Tell me go or no-go..(sorry..more ("piano") and classic sounds..but so am I).

ellll (John) (Will remove this pretty quick...)

An Edit!!!....I removed the Concert Hall FX...and just put the instruments in a plain ole hall  It is still full enough, but less covered...John  and now have deleted it...sorry, forgot to put a note here...It will be back, I hope...John

Hard to tell John.
It's a bit rough, but sounds like it could turn out fine with more work.
That is a bright piano, but I like it.

Many good moments in your improv. Find a nice section or theme within those moments, structure it up a bit with a nice lead, and you will have a great song.
I know the concert hall FX is too much...
Yes, waaaaay too much. Either that or too much sustain on the notes. I like hearing distinct notes.

The intro was ok. I was not feeling the "acoustic guitar" sound with everything else, unless it was developed as more of a lead. But that is merely a matter of taste.

Sounds like you are on your way for March!!!!

You are on a great roll here. Don't doubt yourself. The process seems to be working and you are where you are in the development. I was struggling to get a melody later on, then one did appear during some of those quick notes. I truly hope to hear your polish on this as the potential in this piece is amazing.

Lovely bright piano and some great harmonies there. You should definitely develop this for March - I got the sense of the deserted highway. For some reason the piano tinkly bits made me think of stars winking in the night sky.....??????

Many thanks to kind friends..., :?

They put up with my 19th century ideas in spite of everything!!! But in fact, this is closer than you may realize to an early 20 cent drawing room piece..which is why I note the need for clarity. Yet...:

The romantic period feel as well as that it was both times I went through this road,...sunset or some after,...and still a tad hazy, and 105 degrees,...so it is very much not worrying me if it is a little thick...and indeed you may think of stars, Dee...they were just starting to stick out...

I am not saying I will do this...I have an alt. in my mind with the brass continuing instead of the piano..(But the same music, basically)..I will try a few brass lines and see..

Anyway everyone so far...MANY thanks for kindness to an old dude...and good vibes as it were... :D

Nice John, I like the start. It pulls you in. I felt like you are holding back but perhaps George is on it. You are to worried about your different well schooled background. I think you ought to cut loose and go for. Please keep it coming. You obviously have much to show us. There are no limitation on the music written here. I think diversity of music is what make OSAM greater.

Actually, it is bright...and pretty...

I followed directions from a site, for the O1W on piano..(I jus wrote some figures down a few months back...Might be the main O1W group..don't rem...)...and it gives several simple tweaks you can use....this time I saved them to all my stuff, and dropped the orig. piano off the disk..(Thats for the standard load disc you got with the purchase orig...) one lengthened the sustain a bit.seems maybe 2 sec(??)...(change the slope..) .and the other increased the clarity in the upper range...there are a lot more..but I didn't look further...

I still believe this O1W is a good ("piano") for in all that its a "keyboard"..it is pretty close...

Something has been going the rounds on one thread about "copy" and its true..people think thats all a keyboard player is...pianist......but its the best way for me to record a piano...(I have a set-up for my grand...but it is really awful touchy to use..and wastes my time improvising......)

Hope to get this back on for next one of few months OSAM...

Thanks!!! John

I think he has already deleted it based on a post in another thread.

Sorry :( :( ,

Just put it for a few opins..and didn't intend leaving it...I am sensitive about leaving untouched samples too long for several reasons...inc taking up server space..(maybe that doesn't matter...)..

I won't say it will be March for me...but it may.

This is one reason I would have liked another place to do such....Now the sub. will continue ad nauseum... for no apparent reason, to someone coming in unexpected...

Sorry Friends...won't do that again for a while...

I missed it too,
No worries, there's always value in testing a piece out.
Hopefully it will return in another form!
