parameter guide version E5

Post by jimmiez »

Well, I have been all thru this forum and cannot find version E5 of the parameter guide. The resource section led me to versions E3 and E4 but cannot locate E5. Where is the link? Thanks

Is there any way to get a printed version of this "document"? I know that Korg used to ship it with the Oasys and in fact when I bought mine last month, I was reading the book version at the store and just assumed I'd get one.

Frankly, given the price of the Oasys, I think it's outrageous that Korg dropped the inclusion of the parameter guide book.

You're welcome :-)

Korg are no longer printing Oasys Parameter Guides and the newer Oasys shipments have not included a Parameter Guide in the box.

Personally, rather than printing out the whole manual, I just find things that I really want to digest thoroughly in the PDF and print those. Otherwise I just have the PDFs on my old Powerbook G4 and use that like a book ... LOL, I think it's a little lighter and smaller than the printed Parameter Guide.

In future my preference would be for a more comprehensive printed Operation Guide. The Parameter guide should be like an encyclopedia, namely you don't want to read it cover-to-cover, but simply drop into it for reference. At the moment, it has some very useful commentary, that should ideally (IMO) be in the Operation Guide, a book that presumably is intended to be read cover-to-cover.

A little off topic ... with regards to the manuals/DVD-tutorial etc, I suspect the reason that the Oasys materials were not so focused on beginners, is that Korg maybe didn't anticipate so many less experienced folks splashing 8K on a synth. I think it's a really interesting phenomenon.
