Hi,
I was wondering if anyone can tell me how I can get a +12db gain for a kick drum using a Stereo Dyna Compressor IFX?
I am perplexed by the output level parameter for the compressor. A setting of 0 corresponding to no output. Does this mean that a setting of 100 implies it is the full original signal, with no gain applied?
I find that there are some gain settings for Pre EQ for LEQ and HEQ gain. I don't want to manipulate EQ's separately and achieve the +12db gain, since this will affect the tonal quality.
Best regards,

If you're just looking for a gain increase, use the Stereo Limiter instead. Not the Stereo Mastering Limiter, just the plain Stereo Limiter.
We use this all the time in programming as a simple gain plug, or as an on/off switch.
For your purposes, set the ratio to 1:00, threshold = 0, attack = 100, release = 100. And, of course, set wet/dry to 100 (totally wet).
Then set the amount of gain you need.
