Fading...

How can I make a real "fade in" in SEQ mode?

I've tried and re-tried "velocity change" in the "track edit" tab, but I never get the desired effect.
For ex., I play a string in track 5, striking the chord once and holding it for an entire 4/4 measure - start: 1.000 (lenght 4.000). I release the fingers when it reaches the end/measure. So, my guess is, I'll do the "fade in" in that chord, in that particular measure. The problem is that the sound never reaches it´s original value. Always to high or too low. I've also tried an exclusive message by manipulating the master volume, doing the "fade in"manually, but then I have another problem... if I need to change the master volume of the entire track when in playback, that exclusive message messes things up...
I'm desperate, I've gone through the manuals, but can't get it right... help!? #-o

Hello,
Have you tried Create Ctrl Data?
Use 007 (volume) for the "Kind" of control change.

If you need to undo the change, use Erase Ctrl Data.

Yes, Create Control data seems to be your answer…
also be mindful of the quantization setting you have in place when initiating the command.
I'd suggest 16th note quantization which will facilitate
each CC7 event to be placed in 16 note increments.

Simplest solution for me is recording my fader movements into a seperate MIDI-track.

Here is a video that may help you:

RECORDING FADERS

Give it a minute of two to load up. (Too long for dial up, though.)

Thankx again Mike. :)
The fades you made were all done by changing "exclusive messages" (interacting with the sliders) and "control change 007" (interacting with volume). I've just been through "Midi event edit" and understand it all, now.
All the pieces fit toghether.
Thank you all, guys! I love this keyboard! \:D/

Dear Mike,
Tried to download. It does but nothing is showing up.
What can be the reason for this?
Thanks for help

I uploaded that file, last year. Not sure where the tape is, but I would like to put it on YouTube, instead of my server. I think it's a Quicktime movie file.

Did you wait a couple of minutes, after clicking? You can also try Right Clicking on the link and "Save Target As" to your computer and attempt to open it there.
