springs in 88 keys
One of my keys makes a sound like its something to do with the spring inside. Its always made this sound but its a bit annoying now. I don't think its bad enough to send the oasys back but does anyone know if its possible to stop it from making this noise. it only happens on the middle D.

That's a pretty bad feature
I have some sort of noise on some of my keys too - I wish I could upgrade my 88 Keybed to an RH3 action - but I think i read over at Karma Labs that this is not possible - ?
I thought RH3 meant that RH2 is superceded - wouldnt this mean the newer O's ( along with M3 88s ) are manufactured with RH3s - does anybody know anything about this.
Sorry Mark cant answer your question ( and didnt mean to hijack your thread ) regarding problem with a single key- you didnt mention if you have an 88 or 76 Oasys.

The RH3 is the next version of Korg's 88-key keyboard, but I doubt it will be retrofitted into the OASYS 88. This is also true of Korg's new synth action keybed (new with the M3-61/73) -- it won't replace the Yamaha FS synth action keybed in the OASYS 76.billysynth1 wrote:I thought RH3 meant that RH2 is superceded - wouldnt this mean the newer O's ( along with M3 88s ) are manufactured with RH3s - does anybody know anything about this.
Keyboards are designed, meaning detailed engineering drawings and specifications are created, then rigorously tested. Manufacturers don't try to retrofit something new unless there is a compelling reason to do so, since it is expensive and could potentially introduce new unexpected support problems.
When manufacturers create new technology, it normally ends up in new products, and is included as part of the initial design.
I haven't encountered any problems with the OASYS 88 or OASYS 76 keybeds.

I'm a bit dissapointed that the keybed in my 88 is making more and more noise.. Especially in the lower octaves, and only when releasing the keys! It's as if some sticky stuff has been applied to the keys from within. I'm still under warranty, and I'm thinking of trying to have it fixed. (If it can be fixed at all.)
I had an Yamaha S90ES before, and after a while two or three keys rattled VERY much. To my surprise, they didn't replace the faulty keys: I got an entirely new keybed!!
There's also a very wobbly alpha dial on my Oasys, rather unprecise in the feeling. Do others experience this as well?..

good news pass it around
I finally discovered why the keys have a vibration sound etc. thinking about why this was happening the other night, an analysis, really heavy keyboard 88 weighted sits on twin lock stand or v stand. Wondered if the case may be slightly bending the wrong way because of the stand, putting the keys in an un aligned state or twisted etc. Conclusion put a heavy solid top under the big O and see what happens!!!!! guess what!!!!!! we have have solved the problem, its fantastic no springy sounds any more, and indeed the action back the way it used to be. So get a solid desk or top under the big O to get it back to where it should be. Make sure its level and no vlock stands etc

hey i came across this discussion by accident, and i was hoping someone would be able to help me with a problem:
off late I have begun observing that some of the keys in the proximity of middle C have started losing momentum. They no longer offer the resistance they used to.It's not a huge change, but one that can be felt by playing the lower or higher notes, and then the middle notes. Is this a common problem experienced with all fully weighted 88 key keyboards, or a freak isolated case of bad luck??
any help would be appreciated.
