Can I load the Karo Philharmonic Strings?
My keyboard is fully loaded with all of the korg expansions.
Can I load the Karo Philharmonic Strings simultaneously with all of the other expansions?
If so will the Karo programs and combis autoload like the Korg expansions?
After loading these programs will there be room enough for the Karo Dance Composer with more ram to spare?
Thanks in advances for replies.

This is a big issue, especially as time goes on we will get more samples and expansions, but RAM can not grow past 2GB. Maybe Korg or a third party could create some type of librarian software that would allow us to replace samples. The original brass and woodwind samples could be replaced by the newer EXS3, and the original string sounds could be replaced by Karo. I would also like to replace the built in General MIDI sounds with better ones, e.g. replace the generic "lead guitar" sound with one from STR-1.
I also use the Karo libraries. I have customized the library with my favourite Karo sounds. In this way I can have all expansions and my custom Karo loaded at the same time. Just a tip.
DFD (Direct from Disk) would be something for Korg to look into, like Native Instruments have done. It wouldn't be impossible to do with the software I think.

Actually - that's very interesting and useful to know, thanks.medusaland wrote:Hi Robert,RobertPlatinum wrote:My keyboard is fully loaded with all of the korg expansions.

So, with EXs2 removed, Karo Strings will load with EXs3.
That makes for a very neat and useful configuration for orchestral type work:
- OASYS' HD1 piano (and not often said because of EXS2, but the internal Piano on OASYS is very respectable).
- HD1 internal and EXS1 extremely respectable strings, wind and percussion
- Karo Strings
- EXs3 Wind and Brass
- Sharp's sampled flute.
Very useful to know - thanks - (of course I still need to buy Karo Strings - but I'll get there!).

But when you buy our string library.., then it`s a absolutly must have that you also buy the KSB (strings & brass combis)
Belive me... It`s fantastic

I agree that it is a big issue. Some of us have asked for more memory and a full featured librarian (see the wish list). I also agree about EXs3 and the GM sounds in general (not just one program).rkarlberg wrote:This is a big issue, especially as time goes on we will get more samples and expansions, but RAM can not grow past 2GB. Replacing Korg string sounds by Karo will never be done by Korg. But, the Karo strings are individually selectable for loading so the whole bank doesn't have to be loaded in, so this is just one reason to have a full featured librarian.
In the best of all worlds, it would be great if a user could customize what "sounds" would be their own sonic palette "base" (including the samples that go with it) that would automatically load at startup.
