I have been posting about my weird crashes where the keyboard stops responding and haven't gotten much help. Frustrated I reformatted my HD since I'd already been through it before and had the calibration instructions. No help... just to try once more before I phone Korgy....
In program mode is where it happens, No browser up, just the program on the main screen. Randomly, upon hitting a note the keyboard will hang and not respond to any controls except the chord pads. The notes that were held when it crashed hang on.
I recently found that when it's locked up, my external MIDI keyboard can change patches and play it fine! It's only the A/D board that crashes on my Oasys! Can Korg R&D verify that the chord pads are connected differently than the rest of the controls? The MIDI IN works and the chord pads do too, but pedals, sliders (except volume) and everything else is just stuck where it left off. The last few times I noted that the tempo light was stuck lit when the keyboard locked up, so it seems to only crash right on the beat and it locks up right when I press a key, every time it happens.
Hope this data helps anyone at Korg who may be trying to diagnose (maybe it's not just my O?) and hope someone can help!![/b]
Immense frustration! Korg will not stop halfway crashing!

Hi Ryan:
Keyboard, Controllers, Panel controls and Touchscreen are connected to the AD converter and this is connected to the Motherboard by using an USB port.
MIDI (IN/OUT/THRU and Pedal Inputs) and PADs are connected to the AD converter but also to the PCI card in the Motherboard.
I'm not sure about the logics (In/Out signals), just the way they are wired, but you're right there could be differences in the signal path used.
If it happens again, try also response to touchscreen and pedals (should be blocked the touchscreen and functional the damper, Switch & assignable pedals).
Rgds.

Hello Ryan,
I'm sorry about your problem! But I have experienced something very similiar. In Programs all I do is bring up the Instrument window and switch to a few and it completely freezes! All lites are on but nothin works!
Good luck!

Re: Immense frustration! Korg will not stop halfway crashing
I'm always surprised at how far people will go to avoid calling support. Why would you wait this long and get so frustrated? This forum isn't Korg's official support. If people know the answer, they'll post. If they don't, they can't help much. Korg's support line has more resources and answers than we do on this forum.ryan42 wrote:I have been posting about my weird crashes where the keyboard stops responding and haven't gotten much help. Korg support doesn't bite - call them!
Hey Ryan,
You're in the USA I believe, so you'd need to contact Korg support here in the US :
http://www.korg.com/service/contactus.asp
I hope you can get this problem fixed, as I've had issues like this in the past and appreciate how frustrating it can be. However Korg support are there to help, so make use of their deeper knowledge and access to Korg technical info than we have as a bunch of other users.
