What is GSM?

In a lot of my banks on my Korg are sounds that are repeated but are called GSM? what are these and why are they duplicated so many times?

Those are GM banks, not GSM.

They are present on all Korgs, not just yours, so nothing to worry.

GM bank (with all of the variations, no matter they sound similar or the same) provides compatibility between different keyboards when reproducing standard midi files. Almost every modern keyboard has GM bank, which enables you to play standard midi file in any of them.

As for me, those sounds in GM bank are joke, as are midi files made with those sounds. But that's just my opinion. I don't even notice that particular bank anymore. Would like to remove it completely, but there is no way to do this.

Just don't pay any attention to it and eventually you will not notice it either.
