The thing is, that owners, ( and those who dont own an O ) compare it to the vast number of softsynths available to pc/notebook users - by comparison, and seeing that the O has a pc/notebook motherboard and spec, the number of softsynths available for the O is very small.
However, having said that, there is probably only one ( small? ) development (korg) team who have to co-ordinatate the manufacture of both the hardware and software for the O - in comparison, all these vsti developing companies only require a team for software development. Since there is a lot more of these companies you get a lot more softsynths from them.
We just have to wait a bit longer for our (smoother ? ) running updates.

you're absoluetly right, Charlie.... but this does not imply that I could not live with another synth engine like MOD-7

I think they were waiting for me to finally break down and actually purchase the MOD-7 synth. (lack of funds) Now, they have the money to work on the next update.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw that Jerry had responded to the post. For a hundredth of a second all sorts of EXi:s flashed before my eyes!!!
Yes I know, this post is pure speculation, and KORG wont comment on anything before it's time. (Which is how it should be, of course!)
But back to reality and Jerrys remark:
Drew FM: Drew Frequency Modulation. I get that.
MOD-7: also frequency modulation. (Variable Phase Modulation à la KORG.) I get that too.
But the punch line?!!!
