lead synth from acceptable in the 80s
Does anyone have any idea what synths were used in acceptable in the 80s by calvin harris. I have tried to get the same sound of the lead synth on the oasys but cant get the same sound.
First I'd like to say thanks for showing me who Calvin Harris is...nice record...really nice!! I just checked out acceptabe in the 80's on itunes and immediately bought the full record...can't wait to check the whole thing out!
Now...about the synths that were used on his record. Thats a hard call to be honest considering the vast amounts of synths available today...software or hardware. All of those sounds could easily be replicated on an Voyager Moog, Roland V-Synth GT, Z3TA +, or Zebra II...just to name a few...........so don't think for a second you can't recreate it with your Oasys---THE OASYS IS A BEAST!!!!!. Between the Mod-7 and the LAC-1 ( the other Oasys engines are simply incredible as well obviously ), you could recreate Calvin Harris's whole record...respectfully speaking of course. In no way am I demoting the hard and tedious work that goes behind creating sounds...any sounds for that matter. I'm just saying with patience, a good ear, practice, and more patience...almost any sound is attainable.
Do you own the MOD-7 or LAC-1 ? If not, they are a must buy as far as I'm concerned!
It'll probably take me a month or so, if not longer, but I think I might put that on my next project list --- create a Calvin Harris Library. I must say that his synths selections are pure ear candy!...IMHO.
For now, I'll just work on that lead synth for you...
