FCB1010
Hi korgis,
Today i got my second handed fcb1010.
Before programming my own settings I was wondering how you guys set it up. There are a lot of people in this forum using this footboard so help me out here.
Maybe with the input some people will consider another setting.
Also how can i know which firmware the board has?
Gr,
Sanjai

Hi Sanjai
Great purchase - excellent pedal
Have a look at:-
http://www.mtnsys.com/faq-fcb/IdiotsGuide.htm
I use the PC software editor (you can get your firmware version using this) - see:-
http://www.mtnsys.com/faq-fcb/PCEditorBeta.html
I do vary my configuration a bit but currently I have this set up:-
BANK 0
Pedal 1 - Fill 1
Pedal 2 - Fill 2
Pedal 3 - Fill 3
Pedal 4 - Ending 1
Pedal 5 - Assignment pedal switch
Pedals 6-10 - various Performances
Expression pedal 1 - UPPER 1 volume
Expression pedal 2 - UPEER 2 volume
The reason I use the UPPER 1 and UPPER 2 is to control the real Leslie effect I created with my Hammond B3 Samples
Additional banks have all repeated above except pedals 6-10 for different performances.
There are some youtube setup demos as well but I haven't checked them out.
Cheers
Pete

Hi Pete,
Thanks for youre input was hoping to see some more response.
Come on guys wakeup. I know that Rob S. also uses the fcb1010.
I also was suprised that the ec5 had more assignable settings than a midi footpedal. I hope korg is going to uodate this in the new os.
I also use a axiom 61 with 9 sliders and i was wondering if i can assign these to drawbar settings. I heared that in the new os there are 9 sliders in stead of 8 hope they port those to midi so that you can configure them realtime during playing.

Hi
There's a video by 'pureheart video' showing how to program a FCB1010 for use with Korg Oasys. it gives a good insight into how easy the FCB1010 is to program and may be similar to what you want. it should just be a cse of applying the correct CC's for intro's, fills, main 1 etc instead of the karma scenes.
have a look it may help you.

Hi Sanjai
Cheers
Pete
Think this is mostly due to those functions comprising SYSEX which the FCB1010 cannot send - I would think that it would be difficult (if not impossible) for Korg to change these functions to generic MIDI CCs - I just use the two pedals (EC5 & FCB1010)I also was surprised that the ec5 had more assignable settings than a midi footpedal.
Cheers

In that video, those pedals seem to look very close to each other. Is that just how it looks in the video, or what? I just don't think if it's possible for someone to use that as a foot pedal if wearing shoes?karmathanever wrote:Hi Sanjai

I have not seen the video but I can assure you that the pedal is absolutely fine
...unless you have size 999 feet
Seriously, it is a great and very practical pedal
Cheers

Hi Sam
The EC5 can be used for functions that the FCB1010 cannot do. Some functions require specific SYSEX. I find the EC5 great fro that.
The FCB1010 is great for PC and CC MIDI messages but you cannot program much SYSEX in the pedal.
Hope this helps
Pete
(By the way, you are an amazing player....

do you use these two at the same time, or it's more one or the other? how many parameters do you really need to control with a foot pedal?
