Korg M3-73 Keyboard issues...

Hi all.

Tonight I acquired a Korg M3-73 from PMTonline, played it for a while and unfortunately it went dead on me! So I'm going to talk to them about getting a replacement.

However, I have also noticed something that I feel was a bit suspect with regards to the chassis:

Do all 73-key models have no underside? (I'm talking about the keyboard itself - not the M3 module). Is it meant to be like that? The one that I recieved didn't have an underside...

I've looked through the manuals and it doesn't mention anything about this.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Yes, the M3-73's are open on the ends on the bottom. Then two ends are simply panels that cover the top and back... but not the bottom.

I'm unhappy with how easy they pop off. If when putting it in the case, somebody rubs their hand there, they pop off. I fear they'll get bent some day.

Thanks for the response, Enjoy RC - Yeah I don't like how flimsy they are either..

I like the sounds and the feel of the keys...Oh well - time to send it back to PMT...

Well Bryan i dont know what to say !! The flimsyness of the keyboard worries me if it is actually designed for any serious gigging. The underside of the keyboard is completly exposed. Make sure you give those wankers at PMT a piece of your mind when you call them tommorrow and threaten to post pictures on the forum of the missing screws in the casing.

If you need me to talk to them i would be happy to

Hi Worth..

I've checked the manual again for those 'missing screws' as well - It's saying that there are 2 screws on cover 'A' - (Those 5 holes we were talking about are for the EXB Radias (which is to be screwed outwards from the inside (to hold the board in place), the screws come with the Radias)), and 2 screws for cover 'B' (256MB Memory slot)...So everything's there thank goodness.

The other documents/manuals are there too - The parameter guide is a PDF file on the CD as are the other manuals except the Operation Guide (paper-based).

Let's see what happens with PMT...
