mini kp step phaser problem

my mini kp's step phaser changes patterns. i like the original pattern so that is why its a problem to me. its a totally different pattern and it has nothing to do with me messing around with the touch pad. sometimes it changes between the 2 when I invert it
Has anyone encounter this problem?
