Hi all, can I get advice please about connecting my setup together?
What I'm trying to do is: route midi from computer via midisport 4x4 to 3 devices so I can mix and match sounds. The three devices are the mpc4000, oasys 88 and a triton classic 88. The midi part seems easy enough.
Matching the audio outs and audio ins seems trickier to me. I have no mixer. I currently run the Oasys main L/R outputs to my Genelecs via balanced monster cables. So from a previous post earlier this year, I got this plan for the triton from Sina:
"All you have to do is take the Main Outputs of the Triton and plug them into Inputs 3 (Left) and 4 (Right) on the OASYS. Go to Global Mode and set Inputs 3 and 4 to output to the Main L/R Signal. Now what you need to do is Pan HARD Left and Right. So 3 will be all the way at 0 and 4 will be at 127. Hit the Rec/Write button to Save it, confirm it by hitting OK on the dialog and there you go!"
I'm just getting around to this now, but I'm wondering why Inputs 3 and 4, maybe because they are unbalanced as well are the triton's outputs? Should I use balanced cables for this?
For the mpc4000, the specs say that its Main Out L/R is "1/4-inch stereo phone/XLR Combo jack, balanced" . The Oasys specs say that Audio inputs 1, 2 are "Combination XLR and 1/4” TRS (mono), balanced" . So I'm thinking of having the mpc4000 go directly to Oasys Audio inputs 1, 2 . Does that make sense? Since those inputs are stereo, would no panning or messing around with "Global Mode" be required?
Thanks!
Robert

Hello Iksrazal, i can't really answer your problem, but would say (myself) that 1+2 are the mic jacks, and 3+4 are the Input jacks for keyboards etc, and always seem to see it (myself!) as "Mic 1/2", and "Input 1/2" (input being 3+4).
I have a Triton connected to my Oasys too, in inputs 3 and 4. Although it works this way, I personally can't find a way to adjust the MASTER volume on the oasys, without it adjusting my triton also. Example, I am in combi mode now CONTROL SURFACE/COMBINATION PO: PLAY. The master volume on the right turns the triton volume down - as well as the oasys of course - which is not what I want, i need the Triton to be inaffected by this master volume control - as it is Timre 1-8 - and not AUDIO IN
The thing is, the oasys is always TOO loud for the triton, and would like to adjust each keyboards volume accordingly (i don't have a mixer)
Not an answer to your question, but hope someone with more knowledge than can answer you Prob Iksrazal
Regards
Anthony
