Sharp wrote:So... does anyone not find it very interesting that KORG would hire Jordan for NAMM. As if they had something important to tell / show people :-)
Hence the beer gulping in my post up the thread. :)

That's the same thing I thought Sharp. Must be something big going to happen if they want Rudess to demo the O...something big in terms of something new for the O. Dont think it will be a new synth, but more a new upgrade for the O. They probably want to make a big Bang at this years NAMM and if they release a super new update for the O this will have all the other manufacturers drooling with envy. The Oasys is an existing synth that turns into a new synth each year!!! The others still cannot catch up.

I'm speculating it will be Expansion Effects, and i think some of you have said that vocoding ( at a higher level than what is available on the O now ) is possible through the effects. Since Rudess did a few video's for Roland on their VP-550 perhaps they want him to demonstrate the new ExF/vocoder on the O - ???

Also, I'm speculating that they will release two new things for the O, as they did last year, perhaps another Samples CD...Strings? World Instruments? but then again, if the Exf project was huge ( plus they also released all that new stuff for the M3 and then there was the releaase of the M50 ) we might only see just the Exf.

Anyway, all speculation. We'll have to wait till NAMM...and not too long to go.

Well, I have to tell you, we are simply looking to having exciting performances at the booth from a variety of our closest Korg artists.

We did this last year, to celebrate great musicians making great music on Korg/Marshall and Vox gear. Isn't that reason enough?

Each artist who played last year (you can see plenty of clips over at Karma-Lab) didn't so much tell a product story/announce a specific feature, they simply showcased their amazing artistry on our products.

Jordan is one very special performance, we have some other exciting events planned which I'm simply going to tease you with at this point. But it's going to be "through the roof" this year and we'll be filming it all so you can enjoy it soon after it happens.

Regards,

Jerry

:3dshocked: Jerry, are you now breaking your golden rule here :-)

In this case confirmation that our speculation is wrong.

Or....

How do we know we can trust you now that you are breaking your golden rule. "The forbidden subject of future developments".

So you are planning something :wacky:

Have a great weekend mate.
Only messing with ya.

Could be anything really, and since you posted quite quick in this thread when you saw Jordan/Fantom Etc, I Wonder if Roland are going To merge with Korg, thus a "FANTASYS"'

Or.... perhaps an announcement for a Future Flagship (OASYSII),offering some sort of Discount for those who already own An OASYS, to trade up to the new model (YAMAHA Did something like this with their Motif Series, when the second "motif" came out -thus not "disappointing" current OASYS owners who wanted and update - but was not to be.

Or.....perhaps - There will be an update after all, but (very much like Korg) a Surprising one (I mean, let’s face it, nobody saw the M3 update coming

Or....Perhaps, A Guitar Tuner? - An updated one mind

Here's hoping, that the latter aint so....

Hey Everybody,

Thought I would drop by and say hello to all of you out in Korg land.
Jerry mentioned to me a little while ago that my name came up here
and I am indeed flattered! I've been working hard on a new Dream Theater
album and some other interesting things as well, so my studio tan is pretty dark of late. In addition to the usual keyboard madness I have been enjoying exploring all kinds of ways to control sound. Tenori-On's, Axis 64, Stylophones and really having fun with my Iphone music apps!
Before I continue down that path, lets make sure people here are clear on one important thing. The Oasys is my main Dream Theater live performance keyboard now, and actually has been for a while! It is by far the majority of the sound you hear when I play live with the group. I'm planning to use it for the upcoming world tour, and have a surprise in store related to that as well!
Now about the Fantom....The Roland Fantom is a fine keyboard and I did have many ideas in the development of that that I am proud of. I used it on the LTE tour that we did not that long ago. It has some great things about it (certanly not the least of them the fact that it switches beautifully between layered patches), but the Oasys is still the mother ship in my mind. One day maybe Jerry and I can coordinate releasing some patches for all of you. There are so many cool sounds that I have programmed over the last few years that my personal library has become quite extensive.
So while I have all your kind attention, allow me to promote a very cool musical area that is now up on the web. It is called www.keyboardwizard.net/ I designed it with my animation wizard Mika Tyyska from Finland. It's a completely interactive website where you can create your own musical masterpiece using a wide selection of loops and sounds that I created. You can also play your computer keyboard and watch some pretty cool keyboard wizard animations! Let me know how you all do with that?

Hope to see some of you out at NAMM. I'll be putting together some fun stuff for that performance....

All the best-
Musically,
Jordan Rudess

Greetings Mr. Rudess !

Thank you so much for finding your way and manage some time to drop a line over here, Jordan.
Me and sure the others appreciate it for what its worth. :)

Also, let me tell you as well that is great news know the OASYS is still your main axe, and also to know that you still use and help to develop other brands products as well, like the Fantom G.
Its very nice you took some time to told us all that here, as well as other products stuff.

Players like you colaborating on the developing of musical instruments help to expand the boudaries of music technology and help us musicians to learn more, and have more every day. Hey, It would be fantastic to have some OASYS patches within you involved !

Kind regards, master, and please, please, please keep flowing the fantanstic work you produce !
:verycool: :verycool: :verycool:

Thanx once more and regards.

This community has just been truly blessed , a genius like Mr. Rudess actually posting here? Amazing. It took 2 read thrus of what he typed to realize he actually came here to address us(well you Oasys members more than anyone) but I feel honored to be in the presence of even his text.

Mr. Rudess, keep doing what you do regardless of what keyboard you use. You inspire many of us and for that we Thank you 8)

I am particularly interested in your technique of developing Continuum patches as I have just ordered one for my self. I have very high expectations for the Continuum and I am prepared to spend considerable time learning to play it.

One thing I do not look forward to is the work involved in converting programs to Continuum compatible multi channel combis. And I will try to write a software for that, all Continuum owners here are welcome to give suggestions! I will let you all know how it comes out.

A big hello, Jordan. Welcome to Korg Forums! I think your popping in for a few short comments has certainly lifted the spirits of some of our overly concerned OASYS owners worried about the future of their beloved workstations. Even though I, and a few others, have continued to maintain in these discussions that regardless, we still have the best damn music production kit around, your words are most appreciated. Thanks.
Cheers,
Eric
