So while I have all your kind attention, allow me to promote a very cool musical area that is now up on the web. It is called
www.keyboardwizard.net/ I designed it with my animation wizard Mika Tyyska from Finland. It's a completely interactive website where you can create your own musical masterpiece using a wide selection of loops and sounds that I created. You can also play your computer keyboard and watch some pretty cool keyboard wizard animations! Let me know how you all do with that?

WOW!!!!

Incredible that you stopped by!!!!!!

I think we will all anticipate those patches you promised!
Awesome website!!!

I'm just getting into it and it seems really sweet! What fun!
I love the Wizard Animation! He's so cool flying around there.
Thanks, dude for the site and message!
Hope to see you around! and at NAMM!

Now, that was quite a surprise!
I hope Jerry picks up this idea and Korg (or who ever) releases some of Jordan's sounds. I found it quite inspiring to see on some of the videos how he programs his Oasys. And even though I'm a firm believer of "a tool is a tool" (and be assured I like my Oasys a lot!

) it is certainly uplifting to read here that Jordan will continue to use his Oasys as his ... "MOTHERSHIP".

Was just wondering how Jordan Rudess goes about with setting "zones on the Fantom - like he does on the OASYS - for a live performance, as the Fantom has a Limit of 128 notes polyphony, not bad you'd think, but isn't the FANTOM G like the other fantoms? (and modules) that use - or can use
EIGHT ELEMENTS PER VOICE? ?, which would obviously be a restriction for any complex arrangements. (16 notes poly in a worse-case-scenario and that’s not counting damper/sustain on the instruments).
This is where the OASYS wins by a mile (amongst other things), as it has tons of polyphony (172 for HD, and each EXi seems to have its own Polyphony too - so were talking hundreds. ....Just wondered

Hey Korg Friends,
There is a cool excerpt that we just posted on youtube that you may enjoy.
It's from a recent live internet streaming space jam that I did with musical astronaut Richard Lainhart.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gUXG4tZHgFA
On the Oasys there are so many big and little things that make such a difference in creating a performance type patch (Combination).
Things like having EQ on each zone of the Combi is one of these things that seems minor, but has made a huge difference to me in getting the "right" sound. The incredible effects, and flexibility in the routing of them is a HUGE
advantage of the Oasys. This type of architecture is a dream come true for me and so many players. Having so many insert effects (12) in a Combi allows me to have my individual patches within the whole, each have their own breath and sonic space. For example, I can freely have an intense and effective distortion with delays on my Snarling Pig patch, while my Organ sound is using a nice rotary emulation and more. I hardly ever get to the point when building my Combi's that I feel that there isn't "enough" power there.
It's my hope that more and more people begin to understand the live keyboard performance capabilities of powerful instruments like the Oasys so that companies like our beloved Korg can spend the time and resources developing instruments for people who want to do more then run a loop or play triads!! The guys at Korg know that my biggest request for the Oasys is to have the ability to smoothly go between Combis without the sound being interrupted. I understand this is a root level issue but it is a major one, and if the instrument was able to overcome this road block we would have rejoicing on the streets. At least I would be out there dancing!!
One of the things that was nice about doing the LTE gig on the Fantom is that the sound never was interuppted. A beautiful thing for sure.
The saving grace for my keyboard performances with DT is that there is usually so many other sounds ringing when it comes time for me to switch patches that it is difficult (but not impossible) to here the slight gap between my sound changes! Anyway. Hail to the mothership.
Go make some good sounds! That's what I'm gonna do.

Jordan -
That is utterly beautiful, fresh and inspiring. Reminisant of the very spontaneous way of playing/composing by the likes Vangelis, but of course totally your own and on the very latest instruments. Magnificent. Thank you.

Quite interesting that many people over here run out of space regarding programs. When I read Jordan's comments I get the impression that at least for playing live COMBIS are the real issue - and luckily there's plenty of space for these!
And I agree that it would be nice to have a smooth change between to combis!

That was quite experimental using the various synths between four hands. The first thing that came to mind was piano pieces written for two piano's and four hands. Would like to see this concept adopted for two synths - perhaps two Oasys'... a piano concerto for four hands, one person playing the orchestral part the other playing the piano - I dont think i have seen something like this on YouTube.
And yes, for live performance we definately need smooth changes b/w combi's.

I liked the music too, nice textures! But Youtube does not do justice to the sound. I like Vimeo, it's higher quality and in stereo. I suggest posting everything music related to Vimeo intead of Youtube!

Should I start sending emails for that one to finally happen, Sharpy Boy?

How does 2-3 days of LA sound to you?

I have an extra plane ticket spot left and nobody seems to want to go, I know that this would mean a world to you...

Yes, absolutely. I spoke to him and told him about the thread and how cool it would be if he stopped by to say hello. So he did. For real.
