crackling noise in the L/R outputs

Post by a.schemkes »

I noticed a very ugly crackling noise when I connect my Pa2xPro by USB to my iMac. I noticed it last night. It wouldn't stop even when I unplugged ALL the connections (audio/usb) It wouldn't even stop while I powered off!!! The crackling only stopped when I unplugged the powercord (240V) But I when I plugged it in again, there was the crackling and rumbling again (Pa2xPro wasn't switched on!!).

Of course I tried switching cables, inputs on the mixer, even wallsockets, switched lamps on/off (dimmers etc..) but nothing seems to help. So I gave it a (bad) night sleep, leaving the Pa2xPro completely unplugged. This morning I plugged the power cord in, and... quit!!!

Ok so far so good, then I plugged everything else in, until the USB cable and there was the crackling and humbling all over again.

Any solutions? or experience the same? Could you guys test it with your PA2xPro.

Nabil, thanx for the response.

Though it wasn't the solution I discovered something else while changing USB cables. As soon as I unplugged my USB audio/midi interface (Tascam US-144) the crackling in the ouput of the Pa2xPro stopped

I'll go on investigating what's going on. Anyway, I'm glad I'm one step closer to the solution.

This is what I know so far.

As soon as I connect the US-144 to my mixer (just for monitoring), Pa2Xpro BUT ONLY Pa2xPro starts crackling. I've tested many times on different mixer channels, different cables, different synths, BUT ONLY Pa2Xpro's output is crackling. I can use the digital out of PA2xPro, so for now it's not a big problem for me, though not good of course.

At some time I will have to return my Pa2xPro for repairing LED's (2 blown yet) and I will mention this too, hoping they can fix it. In the meantime, I will record only the digital out and have to live with it. :(

Plug the PA into a completely different power outlet....If here is another outlet close by,,,OK, but if nt use a heavy duty quality extention cord to plug into another outlet somewhere.
Maybe there is a noisey connetion on the power recepticle?

Also, maybe try a different POWER CORD also!
