Help involving re-sampling to WAV

Post by jake88 »

I'm really lost here. THe operation guide didn't help me out @ all here.
So if someone could give me a little "sequencing for dummies" session that'd be amazing.

So far, recording my track is as far as i've gotten. I really need a step by step. (in case you need to know, i only have one track, and i'm saving this to a flash drive)

thanks a bunch!

I'm not exactly clear on what you're trying to do. I think you're trying to '2 channel mix to media' Go to the sampling tab at the bottom and when that opens up click the little arrow in the upper right corner and a menu opens up. You have to scroll to the last choice there which isn't visible until you move your window bar at the bottom to the right, anyway the last choice is to '2 channel mix to media' as you notice there are other choices there, make note of them for other purposes, like sampling sequences or recording from your mic. But in this case select the 2 channel mix then go back to the sampling screen where you can see your left and right levels etc. Now you need to open the top right arrow again to 'select directory' this is where yo specify where you are saving your wav file and open up the area where the name is and make your own name for the file. Then make sure you have allowed enough space for your file in minutes (back at the sampling screen-over save here, like 4 mins for a 3 minute song to make sure you don't overrun the space allocated) Then make sure your sequencer is at measure 1, then hit sampling/rec key and it will blink a bit, after it stops blinking, hit start on the sampling key and then start on the sequencer. Everything should start up and the song will play, at the end there will be a slight blinking of the sampling key as it finished storing the file. You should now have a wav with the name you gave it. This can be taken to the pc, which I do for mastering or editing in soundforge if needed. Hope this helps. It isn't as hard as it sounds.

ok, worked great the first time, but now it seems that things are moved around in the scrolling menu, and I can't find the

as long as you get to the auto setup and open that, it's right there, it's the auto setup that's harder to find as it's on the next screen

I suggest: take fairly simple projects and get some results to keep yourself from getting too discouraged and bogged down in the technical details. Figure out some simple thing you can accomplish that sounds cool and record it and let your friends listen to it. Or post a little ditty in the Promote your Music section and see what people think. I don't like to try to learn a whole keyboard before I begin producing music. I still don't know a lot about it, but I have several very cool songs done just on the M3. A lot of good sounds there and I do like the sequencer too.
