Oasys - expert inputs requested
Hi, wish you all a merry Christmas!
Need expert advice from you folks - can you please help?
1. Is anyone using Road Ready case for Oasys 76? Alternatively I'm looking at purchasing light weight SKB ATA case - any idea whether I should get 76-key case or 88-key case for "Oasys 76"? I got mixed response from some of the earlier posts..
2. Can someone please advice me what is the most effective way of using Oasys in Live situation? I neeed to typically use same set of 10-15 combinations or programs for various songs and need to change sounds very frequently at times. Previously I was owning Triton Studio which had 10's Hold feature, which I find missing on Oasys. So changing sounds seems a bit difficult... any advice please?
Cheers!

I've used the SKB ATA 88 key case for both my T1 88 and Oasys 88 and it has never let me down, ever.
I'm sure the 76 key case would do the job for your O 76, but as with any case purschase, you should compare actual measurements from both the O and the case prior to purchase.
Welcome to the board!

Q #1 :
What kind of gigs you are doing e.g., who is handling the machine and how is the machine being transported and how frequent you travel either short or long distances should determine what kind of case (how much money are
prepared to spend) I believe you should answer first and that should answer
your case question.
Q #2 :
Copy all your programs/combinations to an empty bank in the order that
you need them … your switching sounds at the gig should flow easily.
Put the sounds in order for each tune then practice switching and always
remember to BACK UP this newly created file either on CD or thumb drive
and take it with you to the gig.

Thanks for your rsponse. I will check the interior dimensions. Budget is not a constarint as far as I get a tough case at with low weight. I hope SKB 76 case fits O 76.
For live situations I need to perform some 25+ songs in a show and need same set of sounds. Sometimes I harmonize at random and like selecting instruments on the fly, so fixed sequence of sounds doesn't seem manageable for my purpose. I'm missing that 10's Hold function from Triton Studio!

I have no experience about the 10's hold, but on OASYS you can dial in the combi/program number from the key pad and then press enter when you need to change.Oyaster wrote:For live situations I need to perform some 25+ songs in a show and need same set of sounds. Also I had a nice idea, you could make custom categories for your sets and keep the Category/Combination select window open.
Many use foot pedal to advance combis in sequence letting hands free to play, this works also in the Category selection screen if you assign Value Inc. to the foot switch instead of Program Up. But of course then you have to be conscious where you keep your 'cursor/focus' on the main interface.

Well then. If you can keep the Bank/Combination select open, e.g. don't need to tweak anything outside the Tone Adjust, you can have 32's Hold function on screen neatly with program names displayed.Oyaster wrote:Thanks sirCombatWombat for your suugestion!
10's Hold is a function on Triton which enables changing programs at a single click on each number on the 0-9 numeric keypad. This is unfortunately not available on Oasys.
