The L/R output jack socket feels a bit loose on my Pa1X Pro and jiggling the plug around causes the sound to cut out momentarily (if I leave it alone it's okay, but I want to fix it properly). I'm hoping it's just a loose holding nut on the thread on the inside, or does anyone think it's something more?

If I open the door to the memory slot compartment underneath the keyboard, can I get at the innards of the jack sockets? Thanks in advance.

Just read this posting.
If the sockets are anything like the i30 sockets, then it's the little contacts inside the socket which become 'relaxed' or worn, leading to bad contact on the jack.
There's no quick fix, as the sockets are like a little enclosed box, with soldered pin-leg contacts, mounted directly onto the output pcb.

I would thing that even a digital gynaechologist wouldn't stand a chance of fixing it through the access hole.
I've never opened up my Pa1xpro yet, but it's surely just a variation on the usual korg theme?
I's also easier to remove the board and do the worg on a bench.
I had strip/remove/replace sockets time on my i30s down to about 20 minutes (almost every year), but the first time it took me about 2 hours.

Thanks, Tommy. I'm away from home for a few weeks yet, so I'll take a look at it when I get back. At least I have an idea of what to expect. Funny you'd say, but my daughter is an Ob/Gyn, maybe I should let her take a look at it!

As interesting and funny it would have been to let your daughter take a shot at it, I dread I have to dissapoint you. Being that I had the same problem I know for a fact that you will have to change the whole board.
All the connections in the back from mic to exp.pedals are mounted on the same printcard, and the reason for your l/r plugs feeling loose is because they are. They have been (over time) pryed loose from the print and they are "coming apart" within themselves.
It is a fairly easy procedure once you have opened the PAX, however I took mine to my repairshop and let them do it. Mainly because of the warranty.
