Hi Charlie. I noticed that KLF just went down too. But, that must have just happened because I replied to a PM there a few minutes ago. However, I'm not sure what you mean. What is it that you need to download for CAT1?
I think you mean KL, and not KLF. The forums have nothing to do with the delivery of the software. Anyway, Karma-Lab is not down at the moment.

Eric, the files are delivered via download link, just like I've shown you in the past.

Temple of Mordra is my favorite! I got a little groove going right away, and couldn't stop playing it. Nothing beats good inspiration.

Hi Stephen, I'm aware of that, but he asked about KLF. So, I am guessing, he might have been looking for a link to the KL store or the download link.

Sorry for causing this confusion. I was so focused on avoiding to write KF (for Korg-Forums) that I wrote KLF instead of KL.
Anyhow, after several tries it worked nicely and I was rewarded with great combis - thank you for this stuff - and the price is absolutely fair! 8)

As I wrote on KLF:

Thanks Stephen and Eric, you guys did a great job. I am enjoying the new combis. And you know what? I think every combi is a peace of art of its own. Do I like all the combis? No, not at the same time. Because different moods need different styles, at least thats how it works with me. And I like really digging into one or two combis for some time. And they are so well programmed, really for making music 8)

My favourites at this moment:
000 Katja's House
002 Cool Suitcase
007 The Darkside (LAC-1)
030 Temple of Mordra
009 Wah sup? jamming tonight with this one......

And your combis inspired me to make my own, so I am working from scratch with one combi, it kept me from the street the whole weekend. And of course I am not even close to your ones, but its really feeling good to work with my own sounds and try to KARMAfie them and play my own composition.. And then jamming again with your ones, keep on going

Hey, Arend,
Sorry, I missed this. I've been away for a mini vacation. Anyway, I'm happy you are enjoying Catalyst 1. Thanks for the compliments. That's what we like to hear. Some of my favorites for jamming to are the same as yours.

It's great to know these combis have inspired you to explore developing your own designs. Stick with it. You can deconstruct any KARMA-fied combi to see what's going on behind the scenes (so to speak). Lining up your timbres - programs, zones, midi assignments, etc. - is the easy part. Programming the KARMA parameters is the challenge. Good luck with your discoveries.
Cheers,
Eric

A few new audio demos of Catalyst 1 are up. These use the M3/M50 version, but they are virtually identical on the OASYS (if not better :)):

Cool demos, ideed! And including the performance notes is great, too! 8)
Katja's house is awsome! I find it hard to believe this can be done on an M50 as well. But listening to the other demos ... hm ... impressive how these workstations sound.

Catalyst 1 Videos Released

Post by StephenKay »

I just released video versions of two of my Catalyst Vol. 1 demos, that were previously audio only. You might like to get an idea of how those pieces were done (on the M3). I should mention that these are the first videos to take advantage of Karma-Lab's newly redesigned larger Media Player. :)

Note that while these were done on the M3, you can do the exact same kind of real-time control with the OASYS version. And it sounds even better. :D

Enjoy!

What a pleasant surprise! Woke up this morning to catch the new video showcase of UK Electro and Funkadelic. Thanks again, Stephen, for bringing my combis to another sphere. Awesome!

Cool video - and an impressive demo! 8)
Regarding UK-Demo: what is the footswitch doing and what is the effect of sliding across the touchscreen? I don't think I can do this on my Oasys, can I?
