Hi there,

I'm in a technical progressive band, and I was wondering if there's any way of switching sounds other than manually pressing a button? Surely there's a pedal I can use to cycle through programs or combinations, right? I'm starting to really need this, especially on stage!

Get a standard damper pedal or foot switch pedal, plug it into the Foot Switch jack on the back of the TR (not the Damper/Sustain or Expression Pedal jacks), go into Global Settings, and set the global action for the pedal to Program Up.

is there anyway to switch between sounds only using keyboard keys? just like jordan rudess did. . kinda confused seing him switching sounds with only using his lower keys on his keyboards. i wonder how to do that.

he switches like kanthos said. check out the video on the korg website talking about the oasys. it is good watching too. he is amazing.

also a board that is 9k probably makes it easy. lol.

No, in the video that solitary_shells linked in this thread, it really looks like he's using a keyboard key to do program changes. Either that or he's randomly pressing the lowest key on the keyboard for no good reason.

Still, I highly recommend the footswitch approach over anything else (well, unless you have a more complex MIDI foot controller and want to use that). You're not usually doing as much with your feet as with your hands; I say this as someone who has 4 pedals right now for my keyboard rig (switch for program change, switch to turn the rotor on/off on my Nord, expression pedal to control levels on my Korg TR and organ swell on my Nord, and a damper for sustain). I've never been so busy with my feet that I can't quickly hit the switch pedal to change programs.
