Hi,
just to let you know. Ebse and I together with some friends finally made it on magnatune. Five of our tracks -

Peter These are some very tasty creations. I throughly enjoyed listening. Thanks for the links. Question how long, time wise, did the actual creative process take?

thank you both for the very nice feedback!
... this differs. usually i have a collection of my own sounds. when i start programming them sometimes i have an idea. this for example happened when i programmed the voyager bass for "blue darkness". the core of the track was ready after some hours. but then i was interrupted and left it for months. changed the original drums to a drum track programmed by andreas. after some more months ebse was so kind to add his ideas. in the case of halla heij, andreas sent me already the finished drum track. during that time i was already playing those chords ... listened to andreas drum track and then it was quite fast. with two exceptions, the singer and the solo.. 2k7 - ebse sent me a kind of audio note and asked me what i thought about it... i asked him to send me just the drums as i have an idea for the bass line. i programmed a combi consisting of two bass sounds which i mix and filter by using the ribbon. the bells are in the upper region and an idea when i played a little around with a sound to which i added some delay. liked that a lot as it is breaking the beat - not sure if i am good in describing what i mean - and used it for the track. for the second part of this track i asked ebse to "destroy" the mood with some virtual guitar treatment... and finally, water meditation is just the result of a self programmed neuron sound. it reminded me somehow on a strong wave at the shore and therefore i played the base line for about 4 or 5mins... and then we added the other sounds as soon as we realised that this will have something to do with water

.... usually i am quite fast but during that time i had lots of different things to do and was interrupted which sometimes is killing the initial mood. usually i try to catch this one mood... this moment and record as fast as possible... which makes it quite complicated for reproducibility.... hope that is answering your question at least a bit

What combi did you use?
Ha ha! I'm just kidding!! Peter that is some seriously great arranging and soundwork! I like the percussion on track 1 and those 5 that you listed, above, are my favorites of the album. Very strong synth work made them standout for me. I listened to all 10 tracks.
The singing, bass and percussion is top notch, too. I really liked how spacious the mixing seemed. Very smooth to listen to.
Listening, again....

Peter: Thanks for the explainations. I find your use of the ribbon controller to phase the two bass sounds a great idea. The directions that people explore in their creative process is very interesting. The results you and your collaborators achieved speak volumes.
