Hey guys I'm pretty new to using external effects processors as I've always used the effects on various mixers, I'm looking to purchase one of these strictly for adding creativity to my live sets. I would be using it with cdjs along with a standard mixer and I have some questions. Firstly lets say i have a track playing on channel one and I want to mix in a channel 2 track and apply an effect only to the incoming channel 2 track not on the master? Secondly can i loop a portion of the channel 2 track live, lets saying 2 bar lengths using the pad? How does looping work with the pad? Lastly, can I store full acapellas on the pad and trigger them during a live set using the 4 buttons as well as apply some effects just on the acapella? How would i go about beat matching this acapella with the master track, does it do it automatically or do I need to know the bpm of the acapella and then set it on the pad to the bpm of the tune being played on the cdjs?
Thanks in advance to anyone who answers my questions, and sorry if there newbie questions haha

How the KP3 gets applied to the mix depends on your mixer, not the KP3. In particular, if the KP3 is attached through the effects loop, then you need to see if your mixer has separate effects send/return levels for each channel. If it does, then you turn the effects up for channel 2 and down for channel 1. It's the same for any external effects, not just the KP3. But many DJs prefer to use two KP3s, or two miniKPs, or two SP-404s, so that different effects can be done on both sources at the same time. It's more a matter of having a simple workflow.
After sampling on a pad, it will automatically loop. You can sample any audio, it doesn't know the difference when it's sampling a voice or music. You can apply the effect to a sample, but the effects will also be done to any music going through the KP3. So if you only want the effects on the sample, you'll need to turn off the effects send on your mixer, and leave the effects return on.

Hook up the KP3 just like any external effects. Follow the mixer manual directions for hooking up an external effector.
What the mixer can do with external effects is up to the mixer. The DJM-800 seems to only have external effects patched as a master (beat) effect. It has individual effects only for it's internal color effects.
