I realize that all this may be found in the manual...but I just can't understand it. I get bogged down in all that's there.
I'm asking a HUGE favor of someone..cause I know the answer to this may not be quick and simple.
Ok so I need to sample a song (off my ipod) and cut it into many sections. Then I want all those sections i've cut the song into, to be triggered by individual notes. I think I read somewhere that you can convert multisamples to programs?? So each of these sections of the song will be no more than like 5 seconds...
ultimately..what I want to do is be able to (in the sequencer) is have all my other tracks playing..then select the program containing all my cut up pieces of that song...and hit the mini-samples at different times.
One more small question...if you press the note that triggers a sample..will the whole sample play through, or will it stop when you let go? hopefully the second answer:P
I basically need a step-by-step.
thank you so so much!
Sampling question...Please Help?

Yes? I see you have called me for help?jake88 wrote: Ultimately
okay heres what you must do.
Load the song on to a CD put it into the Oasys go to Sampling. Go the page tab Audio CD. at the bottom of the page, you'll see a place where there's the time of CD, here theres also a place where you can select the Section of the song you want to sample in. Move the time until you have it right where you want it. Push the Sampling Start/Stop key to hear the sample you will have. When its correct, select the Drop Down Menu in the top left hand corner of the page and select Rip From CD (or something like that) and it will rip it in to the Oasys. If you have changed nothing in the Main Page of sampling than it should put it on C 1. After you have done the first key
go to the Main Page, you'll see the Multi Sample at the top of the page. ( you can rename this if you like)
and underneath this you'll see the actually Sample, and the whole Keyboard set out...and where the keys are filled it shows where the sample is.
Now you should see a number. it starts at #1 so change this to Number 2 ( C#1) than repeats the steps. every time change the number so it will appear on the next key...etc
Now once you have all the keys the way you want them. On the main page select Drop Down Page again, and select Convert To Program. Select what Bank you want it and Name it. then select Rename and select yes....that should solve it for you. All the Keys will be on this one Program.
and yes as soon as you let go of the key the sample shall stop playing.
I hope this is clear enough for you if not just ask exactly what else you need okay?
Good luck amigo!
Oh and this is Post #777 for me so...thats a lot of good luck for you!!!!

hey I really appreciate it. One problem though...I have an M3..not the Oasys. although I wish I had that. Um...I'm thinking there isn't TOO much difference in procedure though? My External CD drive isn't being recognized by the Keyboard..so I have to do a direct digital sample from my iPod.
Can you still help? I mean..the layout (in terms of tabs and pages) is kinda similar between the two keyboards isn't it?
Thanks again for the Help! It's greatly appreciated

man I spend too much time in the Oasys thread! Sorry man!
but the whole process is pretty much the same.
I have never used an External CD Drive with the M3 (though I do own one). what you probably have to do is go to Utility and select Scan Device...and it should read it.
If not, load the song onto a USB drive and it should work about the same, though I've never tried it but it should work. and then proceed the same way I posted above.
best of luck (again)
