HELP! ..."file already exists" message -audio trac

Post by awatu »

Hi All...

I just started recording audio tracks in my Oasys for the first time last night ...Saved my work ...Now, I'm attempting to resume...

I am utilizing auto-punch, as I would like to change what I did in a specific section ...However, when, I try to record I get a pop-up message that says: "file already exists" and it won't allow me to record ...Does anyone know why this is happening? ...And, more importantly, how I can resume recording? ...I'm a newbie, so I am hopeful that it's just my ignorance/inexperience with an Oasys that has come into play ...I really appreaciate any visibility that you can provide ...Thanks, much.

Greetings & Well Wishes,
Steve :?

The sequencer is trying to create another file with the same name.
The sequencer will not overwrite the file.
You can manually delete the file, if desired.

Regarding "takes",
if the Take box is checked, the new file will be assigned a new number by changing the
Take number prior to recording. Just key in a number that wasn't used before.
If the Take box is unchecked, you don't have the option of assigning new take numbers.
You can, however, change the Track title to start a new recording.

It's probably quicker to check the Take box, and input a new take number, prior to recording.
