so i got bored with my kaossilator and mini kp and decided it was time for a makeover. what do you think?

im thinking of painting my microkorg red - just dont know where to start!

i took them apart and swapped the electronics inside (touchpad included) and the face plates. it wasn't that difficult since the kaossilator has the exact same body as the mini kp (yes, it has the holes for the input rca jacks too!), the only difference is the color.

glad you like it, i can't keep my hands off them

IMO the new contrast in each unit makes them look better, the original kaossilator was too light overall while the mini kp was too dark. now it's like each unit has much more character.

just do it. i never painted any gear so i wouldnt know where to start either but i'm pretty sure if you're more or less bored with it now, things will spice up again.

kaossilator looks awesome..

if you painted the ridge bit black instead of red, it would look great beside a microkorg XL

I totoally agree! Excellent job, I'll do this myself as soon as I pick up the MiniKP
