wah wah pedal for dummies

Post by jgsidak »

I've been using the Oasys for about 2-1/2 years now. I have never been able to figure out how to set up my Alesis expression pedal correctly so that I can get a controllable wah wah effect when recording a guitar part. I don't find the owner's manual helpful on this point. Can someone explain how to set up an expression pedal in this way? Thanks.
My website contains more than 150 songs recorded on the OASYS in a variety of genres--from hard rock and jazz to orchestral and country. Please visit: www.gregorysidakmusic.com

1. Set the Foot Pedal to an assignable CC, such as Foot Controller (CC#4) or FX Controller 1 or 2 (CC#s 12 or 13).
2. Assign the CC to control the wah effect.

These parts of the Parameter Guide should help (all page numbers from the latest PDF, version E5):
Pages 836-837 ("016: Stereo Wah/Auto Wah") - in particular, the Control section
Page 717 ("2–1: Controller") - Foot Pedal Assign parameter
