Switching American / European adapters?

I blew it a few months back and plugged my American KP2 into a European outlet. I'm looking around for new/used ones to replace it with, and I've been checking both American and European sellers. I don't know how much longer I'll be in Europe, but until I find out, I'd prefer to have a European cable coming from my KP2.

My question: Can I simply replace an American cable with the European one? Or if I have a European one and I get back to America, can I just use an American one and everything will be good? Or is there voltage conversion that needs to be done in order to avoid any problems? Are differences in voltage resolved by simply having the proper cable?
