Absolutely new user with a new mini-KP:

When I turn the program knob and touch the touch-pad, I only hear sound for effect programs 88 to 99. For values 00 to 87, I hear nothing.

What am I doing wrong?

And a more basic question: Is there a manual besides the simple owner's manual that comes with the device?

The stereo rca plugs may provide a clue, to wit, if you insert the plugs labeled 'line in' into your nostrils, and then have a friend on the other side of the mini-kp insert the plugs labeled 'line out' into his or her nostrils, then by selecting different programs and then humming or having yet another friend yell into your mouth or ear holes then the friend attached to 'line out' will be able to enjoy different effects. The pad part works great as a coaster, nice touch, korg.

sigghhhh...

first piece of advice i have for you is to clearly understand what your equipment does before purchasing!

from the first page of the user's manual - "Thank you for purchasing the KAOSS PAD mini KP Dynamic Effect Processor." while it does come with a few synth patches, it is really for adding effects to audio sources, which you can plug in

Been Mean Much, guys?

A brand new user...maybe all he needed to know is why on an effect box he hears sounds on 11 programs...

Ok Kgold; that programs 88-99 are the only programs that give off sound because they are either synths or beats or patterns or vocaders.

Enjoy and have fun.

Sorry about being a jerk, but you should know looking at the box that this thing's an effects unit. I don't mind helping people out, but when it's this rudimentary it's kind of a bummer to be honest. :\
