no record sequencer mode

Post by lebeau99 »

Happy to have legitimately moved into the Extreme forum but sad that the record button on my new-to-me Extreme is not working. No flashing red light, no sound (even with preferences properly set) and doesn't record. Ideas?

Do the Arpeg patterns work in Prog and COMBI mode ?.
If not, go to GLOBAL mode and look for the midi clock. It is likely set to external and it should be set to internal.

If they are working then it's likely that the button is dead and you need bring it back to get it fixed.

It happens unfortunately from time to time. Might be best that you check all the buttons if your bring it back to get one fixed. Press them very softly and see if they work because when a button starts to go you have to press it pretty hard to get it to work.

Regards.
Sharp.

You know, the next day I powered up and tried it and everything was fine. Ought to have let the Forum know right away. Not sure what the problem was but I had worked on it for a considerable while before I cried out. I think you can tell when a button is working properly usually because it has a distinct but subdued click when you push it. The record button was performing mechanically properly. When a button is not working properly, it's harder to detect that click. Thanks.
