Hi, i'd just like to know what u guys think about this.

Ive had a korg m1 for a while, and ive recently bought an m50 and i love it. I hear that u shouldn't sell the m1 because its a collectors, unique, or whatever but i also hear stuff like theres nothing the m1 really has to offer. I'm not sure if i should sell my m1 or keep it.

Has anyone sold an m1 or something along those lines and regretted it? and also is there anything the m1 can do that the m50 can't?

thankyou

to keep or not to keep, that is the question..

I tend to hold on to my stuff, I've have parted with a few items I wish I hadn't.

Is there anything that stands out on the M1 that makes you think, I love that sound..
I'm not a huge fan of the M1, mainly because I keep having to fix them. I would describe it as 'functional'..

It's quite a large item to have sitting around (gathering dust?).
It also depends on your financial situation, could it's sale help recover the cost of the M50?

You could always find yourself a M1R if you sell it and find you do miss it certain sound you liked..

The M1 has a great keyboard on it, you could always use it as a controller for other synths. It sends aftertouch, which is one thing that it does that the M50 cannot, and the keybed is much better quality. But if that's not something you really use, then you can always get the M1 software synth from Korg's Legacy Collection.

i actually forgot to mention that i have the m1 software, does this change everything? btw i prefer the feel of the m50 but i guess it would be useful to have a second keyboard.

I'm actually selling my Triton Extreme and my N364 currently, i'm already regretting it, but it's something I have to do. I still have my 01/W, which I keep for the sole reason it's a classic synth that I will never get tired of it, and I decided to keep it so I don't have to keep toting a keyboard everywhere I go... I leave the 01/W at work, keep the M3 at home... and vice versa when I need the other one at work. If I were you I'd keep the M1 unless you have a good reason to let it go, but like you said, having 2 synths is NEVER a bad thing... what if there's a lightning storm and a power surge kills your M50? Or what if you break a key on the one and need to send it in for repair?

To me m1 contains one of the nicest korg sounds i original form and i mean lore. something what kind samples i like in digital synths when we talk synthetic material also other worldly (i mean odd sound sources) sounds form acoustic sources. what kind i cannot tell much but something like spray can, anvils etc.
