Having a problem with a sound design project

Hi all

sorry it's been a while. been getting used to a new studio setup and now getting used to another piece of hardware.

ok here's the problem I'm stuck with

just been working on a sound design job for the OASYS. I'm using an ouasys 88 with OS 1.3.3 with 2GB ram installed.

I have loaded a folder containing samples which are playable with the OASYS. So I've now created a program after using the multisample editor and converting the multi sample to a program.

I've created the modified program. saved it. rebooted and now the multisample has disappeared into thin air. is there something I'm doing wrong or missing?

is there a way of saving the multisample and getting it to load into ROM or load each time. it's stored as wav files in a folder mounted on the oasys HD

can anyone here help or advise me without me referring to that manual all over again.

Samples are only loaded into RAM and therefore must be reloaded next time you start Oasys. There is no automatic way of doing this.

The following things are saved in the Oasys memory and reloaded automatically : Programs, Combis, Global settings (including Drum Kits and Wave Sequences).

Samples and songs are not saved in the Oasys memory and need to be saved to disk and reloaded in your next session.

Just for completeness, I should add that Karma GE's and Effects Presets are also handled that way.

You said that the samples are currently stored as .wav files. For future ease of loading:

After you've loaded the samples into RAM, use the Save Sample Data function in Disk mode. This will save all current samples in RAM at that time, in Korg format, in one set of files. You can then reload them all with one action.

This is important, because the samples have to be reloaded in the correct order so that your Programs point to the correct Sample.

If you give the .PCG file the same name as the Sample Data file, then you can re-load everything down the track with one action.
