Samples are not programs, so you will not find them in Program banks. Programs are merely memory settings and not actual sound data.
To find the samples you loaded:
Pess the SAMPLE mode button. (next to GLOBAL button)
On the screen (upper half, left side), you will see INDEX and under that SAMPLE. Press that little arrow and a pop up box will appear showing the sample slots. If user sample memory was empty, your samples (KSF files) will load in slot 0000, 0001 and up to 4000.
If you loaded the Multisample file (KMP), it may have the samples lined up for you. If not, pay attention to the INDEX range - your first sample might only be on the lowest keys. You can adjust this range.
Once you get those samples properly arranged into a Multisample, you can save it.
TO HEAR SAMPLES IN A PROGRAM:
Go to any program, an unnamed piano default.
Press the OSC/PITCH tab.
Press OSC1 BASIC tab (it should just default there).
On the screen, next to MS1 (HIGH), it should be set to "Multisample". To the right of that change ROM MONO to RAM MONO (or RAM STEREO for stereo samples). Right underneath that you will see 0000 NEW MS________000 or the name of your Multisample, if it's in that first slot. Select your multisample.
Your Program can now play the sampled sounds in that multisample. SAVE ALL will save programs, samples, everything. Use SAVE ALL and you will be happy you did.
When you turn off the OASYS, the samples will be gone, but the Programs will remain, when fired back up. Go to DISK and locate that ALL file. Under the name of whatever you called it - "Sitar", whatever - you can load ALL or just the samples, which would be the "Sitar KSC" file. The KSC includes all the samples and the multis that you saved. Much easier to deal with.
The DVD was meant to cover GLOBAL mode and the INTERFACE. When I
realized it might be a while for DVD 2, I put short demos in there to cover bare bones of Sampling, Sequencing, etc. That sample demo is basic - no looping or multiple indexes. DVD 2 will cover that in more detail.
