Wavestations and M1 PCM cards...

Hi everybody,
I just bought on eBay the MSC-04 Orchestra M1 PCM card. It was very cheap and i've been wanting to try a M1 PCM card in my Wavestation for a while. All the samples in the card works great except for one, Strings 2. You can hear a harsh beating when the loop starts its playback. One samples was in fact perfect to create the Pink Floyd "On the run" famous loop!!!

So it gave me the idea of reporting it here and maybe start a sticky thread about compatibility of these M1 PCM cards on the WS. There's a couple of articles on this on the net but nothing specific about what works and what doesn't. What does one do to make sticky thread???

So, anybody can report another card? Feel free to join.

that's interesting, i didn't know M1 cards worked in the Wavestation - what made you try this? wonder if 01/W cards would work in there too

Hey,
The 01w cards won't fit. It's not the same connector, so don't try!! I read in a couple of places that it was possible. There was an auction on eBay for the Orchestra PCM card only, which was great since the programs/combis card is of course not compatible. There's good strings sample in there and some synth pcm too. For 20$, it was a no brainer.
