Anybody use Oasys with Logic Studio ?
If so, can you share your routing and connections ?
I'm having a really hard time trying to sync the 2 together.
btw I don't have the EXB DI that really sucks because I need it badly and can't find it anywhere .
I would prefer with Oasys as master but will consider oasys as slave to Logic.

Yes I do I have my v-synth xt connected as my audio interface. And I plug the oasys directly into it via analog connection or via spdif. Both ways are working. You to make shure that either one part of the digital connection is the master clock source in my case its the v-synth becuase live i only have one glasfibre cable connected between those units because i have no mixer. But most of the time I only use the analog connection. Its the easiest way when switching between different instruments. I havent tried the adat connection even I have the exb-di. I also have two exb-di board here at home. I would sell one to you if you need one. These were the last i picked up at my local store around christmas they found them somewhere and sold them I bought everything just in case^^. In logic I select the two inputs of the v-synth when i am creating an new track thats all. Nico

Basically I want to use Logic as my sequencer but I want my Oasys as master clock. Oasys and Logic both have preferences I know need to be changed but which ones and to what.
Heres another Idea
I would like to record in Oasys sequencer and transfer to Logic with midi.

. Logic can only be slaved via MTC or SMPTE. It can be MIDI Clock Master, however.

My setup is very simple: 1 midi out and 1 midi in into a standard midi-usb-interface sending to the iMac. Mac = master and Oasys = slave.
There was a standard file provided here somewhere for utilizing 16 Oasys-Midi-Tracks in Logic including the necessary environment in Logic and all the controllers. Moreover there was a second file providing all the names of the programs for the use in logic. Installed that one too and it all worked well ... but ...
In the end I gave up on the idea of using 16 midi-tracks at once in the Oasys. Main reason: the Oasys-effects contribute a lot to the program sound. Of course one could optimize that and get a good enough sound for 16 tracks too via sharing effects in a combi - but I was too lazy for doing that each time.
So what I do now is midi-recording the Oasys on a midi-channel in logic. After the track suits me I audio-record it. Then I do the same for each following Oasys track. Due to the audio files of my midi recordings in Logic I always can hear all the redorded Oasys-tracks at once, I'm not limited by 16 midi-tracks, and I can always go back to the midi-track and change and rerecord. Just one tip: write down a clear name for the Oasys program used in the midi-track in Logic, so that you find it quickly later in case you need it again. Use something like "name of library"+"Int/User"+"Bank-Letter"+"Number". Eg. "KPSub17" = Karo Philharmonic Strings Userbank B Sound Nr. 17.
I admit all this doesn't sound very handy. But it's very simple and effective. You don't have to switch on your Oasys later on once you start to editing your song. You have everything on audio. BTW: I got this idea von Peter M. Mahr. He uses to midi and audio record at the same time.
As for the rest of the setup: I use the analog-outputs of the Oasys going into Apogee Duett. And I spent some time finding the perfect midi-filter-settings in logic. Oasys tends to mess up Logic mixes with its CCs changing volume levels or other stuff when changing programs. If you are interested in my settings for this type of setup I can send you some screenshots.
As for the files mentioned above: search this forum or KLF.

Thanks Charlie, for your help and yes please show some screen-shots if you have time, I know that can be time consuming. I'm just not sure if your set up is good for me. @Rocness: If you send me an email-adress via PM I'll send you some screenshots. As Christian Baum wrote above you cannot slave Logic via Midi (but via MTC or SMPTE). Perhaps it is possible to synch Logic to the Oasys via this - but you'll have to ask someone else for a solution.
What I do not understand is WHY Logic has to be the slave for you? You can set Oasys to external Tempo and it works perfectly as a slave of Logic. Why does Oasys have to be your Masterclock? It doesn't make too much sense for me, if you whant to use Logic as your sequencer but Oasys has to be the Clock. But I'm sure there's a reason ...

I was thinking if I use Oasys as master I coud use its trasport buttons (play stop rec etc..)to control logic but forget about that ill PM you

I use logic also.
I would recommend you forget about the sequencer on the Oasys. Compared to Logic its cumbersome at best.
I spdif and analog out from the Oasys to my roland VS2480CD 24 track recorder which is now being used solely as an expensive auto fader.
Then from the Roland i spdif into my imac 24".
Then I have a Radias and another roland synth as well as VDrums as well as two guitar pedals going into the Roland 24Track Recorder.
Additionally, the Oasys Midi out is going into the imac.
This allows me to:
1. Record into Logic using logic patches using Oasys just as a midi kbd.
2. Record native Oasys sounds via the VS2480CD via the spdif.
3. Record Guitars,Drums,Synth2,Synth3 via the VS2480 via the spdif.
For composing by myself, this setup works beautifully.
Problem is that the only way with my setup to record 5 or 6 instruments being played simultaneously is to do it on the VS2470CD. This means only the bounced track from the VS2480 can be then brought into Logic.
At some point I will take the VS out and just get a firewire (when I can find one that works) mux to bring everything to the imac.

For using Oasys faders for controlling Logic this is possible via midi-CCs. I don't do that - but would love to. My problem so far was, that the CCs sent by the Oasys most of the time messed up my logic-mix. Therefor I decided to filter these midi-data and have them NOT in logic.
