Radias question

Excuse my noob-ness, but I'm wondering if the Radias will function as a MIDI controller in a DAWs? (Similar to say the Edirol PCR series)
Thank you for any help. The Radias is a great looking piece of equipment and I really hope I can use it for what I need.

Please note that I'm aware that the Radias has MIDI in'out and a USB connection. And while I've heard several people say it can, I haven't heard in what way it can be utilized? For example, I would assume the keyboard could be used to control any software synths in your DAW, but what about any and all of the knobs on the actual rack. I would think no, as they are hardwired to control the actual analog portion of the module.
Is this correct? All I would really need is for the pitch and modulation wheels and keyboard to control whatever app is up in my DAW.

There is no 'analog' portion of the module - it is all digitally generated sounds and chips, all of the knobs and other parameters that are in the menus transmit MIDI CCs, the pitch and mod wheels work, the 16 keys transmit MIDI when in Key mode, as well as the keyboard, all of this will be transmitted on the MIDI Port and/or the USB port depending on your global settings.
so you can use it in a DAW or with standalone softsynths as well as to control other modules. In addition, the USB driver gives you the ability to address the internal sound engine and keyboard connection, and the MIDI In/Out ports as separate interfaces, so you can trigger the radias sound or use the keyboard output whilst sending MIDI to other devices through the MIDI Out port or receiving MIDI in the MIDI in port to separate tracks or plugins or whatever.
In terms of controlling softsynths, you can do this however you like to go about it, but it differs depending on the software you are using. each knob will transmit a CC 'number', and you can usually 'learn' by picking a parameter in the software and then twiddling the knob you want to use for that, or by assigning numbers manually, etc... refer to your software's manual or instructions/help.
because all the parameters both transmit and respond to MIDI Controller Changes or SYSEX messages, that also means you can record a performance as MIDI including knob tweaks, and when you play it back you will get those knob tweaks back too. in this way you can also record multiple passes of knob tweaks to make an even more complicated performance than could be done at once, again this depends on that option being available in your DAW.

That's what I wanted to hear. I'll go ahead and order one. Anyone have a good suggestion on where to get one at a good price. (have to use mail order as I'm at an APO address) I was thinking of zzounds or musicfriends. Anyone know anything better that actually caters specifically to that type of hardware?

Not to keep posting here, but I picked one up through zzounds. Now if it will just ship via USPS I should be good.
Don't worry I wont post streams of questions. Looking forward to get my hands dirty with it though.
