KP3 MIDI Master/MC-909 Slave

in my setup:

-2xcdjs
-roland mc-909
-korg-kp3

what i want:

i want the kp3 to send midi clock bpm info to the mc909 so when i go from decks to samples...i can go from samples to 909 without having to change the bpm setting.

problems:

the 909 isnt receiving the midi clock info from the KP3. ive configured start/stop msg info in ext.ctrl mode and i can see that it works (watching the tap light as i press 'start'). i have also configured the 909 to 'slave' setting in the 'seq sync' sequencer mode.

questions:

does anyone else here use the kp3 to as a clock to control 909? how? if not, are there any other functions i need to setup in order to correctly configure the kp3 as a midi clock?
