Hi Stephen,

It's good you're touching the subject.

I recently considered buying a copy of your Karma software for the OASYS, went to your web site and started the purchase procedure. At some point, I was asked to specify for which OS I wanted a copy.

The problem is... that I don't know exactly...! I'm in the process of assembling a new machine exclusively dedicated to music software, and still don't know which OS I'm going to install. Quite probably XP, 64 or 32. Because I didn't know yet, I stopped the purchase process, and left it there.

Is the script on your site asking this merely for building statistics (on OS uses) or is it really because the copies differ for all types of OS? And what if I buy, say a copy for XP 32, do I need to buy another one if I want to use it on Vista 32? Or Vista 64?

I've really been meaning to make a notation on the store page where this is to avoid this kind of confusion. I ask this mainly for statistics, and to force people to think about what they are doing in the case that there is not the OS they think they want (Linux, Mac OS 9, Win 2000, Win 98 etc.) By forcing a choice, you are forced to look at a list of what is available. ;)

So it really doesn't matter which you specify, you can download any of them from the download page.

When you buy the software, you receive a download link to a page that contains all the versions for all the OS's. You can download whichever you need. The software is exactly the same; however, the installers are not. For different systems, different pieces go into different places. That's all.

Thanks Stephen for the prompt reply.
You can count on me as a new customer (well, I already was, but for some other stuff!). I'll buy it tonight.
Yes, you should probably indicate something on this somewhere on your site, to avoid the confusion. I looked in the FAQ but it was not mentionned. May be is it the most obvious place.
