splits and sustain

I have seen some cover versions of shine on you crazy diamond on youtube. Most of them have the keyboard split with string on the left and flute on the right of the keyboard. how can i make the strings sustain using the damper pedal without making the right side of the keyboard sustain.

tap the midi filter/zones tab and enable or disable damper in the midi filter1 sub-tab.

It is in page 423 of parameter guide.
