2 Questions: Triton Extreme Audio Inputs / USB Stick

Post by johnwalker »

Hi .. I am a new member - great to find this wonderful forum site - I have just purchased a Korg Triton Extreme (S/H, mint) and am currently trying to find my way about it !! The owners manual is like a telephone directory !

I have 2 questions ...

1/ Can the Audio Inputs on the back panel be used to connect a second keyboard ? Or are these for sampling only ? My audio mixer (Yamaha Stagepass300) has only 1 stereo input and I need to combine 2 stereo audios. I'm wondering if the Audio Output of the Extreme will then have my 2nd keyboard audio suitably mixed ?

2/ Is it possible to store data (Programs/Combis etc) on to a USB stick ? There is no reference to 'USB Sticks' in the 'parameter Guide', only flash cards, external hard drives and linking to a PC etc.

Many thanks for your help.

Yes, see page 159 in Parameter Guide, section 0-3 Input/Sampling.

Keep in mind that such setting would require you to route Audio INs to the same IFX and MFX engine every other mode on Extreme would share with your 2nd keyboard's signal routed to Audio INs on Extreme. So your logical choice would be to route it directly to L/R, that is if you want your 2nd keyboard's signal to remain dry.
Is it possible to store data (Programs/Combis etc) on to a USB stick ?
Yes. If you already have CF installed in Extreme, connect USB stick to it too and chose it instead of CF in Media mode.

why not just put the other keyboard to line inputs 1 and 2 on your mixer and pan the hard left and right... I always connect my keyboards that way instead of using the stereo ins...
