Using M3 sound module with PT's??

Hey whats up everyone. Had a quick question. For those who dont know...the Korg M3 has a sequencer. What i do is i record my foundation of my song to the sequencer. The problem is I dont always have the full control over everything I want, which is what Protools comes into play.

I save off my recorded song as a 'General Midi" file, then hook the flash drive up to Pro tools, and import all the midi files for that song....heres where the trouble comes...

Say I have 6 midi tracks imported...and i want to listen to one midi track so i can make w/e edits i want to with it, but i still want to use the sounds from the M3....I have the M3 hooked up via USB to the computer (iMac)...I then solo out the one track, and go to the same Combi (combination) that i just recorded, so that i can have the same sounds. Next i set the output of the midi track to whatever track i want to listen to...and thats when things sometimes go haywire. Say i set it to Channel 10, I should then hear whatever sound that channel 10 is set to playing to w/e midi i have on PT's right? Well i get sound, but most times for whatever reason, the sounds just get all mixed up. The sounds on each channel on the M3 change for NO reason as soon as i hit play on PT's. Sometimes i get it to work fine, sometimes (most times) it just starts changing on me, and then even if i change to another combi, and then come back to the one i want, its still messed up, and i have to restart the keyboard just to get all the settings back to their original status.

I'm surely no midi OR protools expert, still learning both, but i would think this would be a pretty straight forward process of, hook up keyboard to computer via usb....send analog outputs of keyboard to protools inputs....import midi, set the output channel to the channel on the M3 that i want to hear, and hit play. Apparently there is more to it than what I'm understanding. Anyone ever experience this before, any suggestions??
