Hi,
Firstly, I know that this post should not strictly be on the Oasys forum

, but I am hoping that you guys will appreciate that to get the best sound from the O you need the best gear possbile given a budget.
Got home today, switched on my Oasys, and removed the headphones from the jack, and noticed that half of the connector was left in the jack.
Anyway, now on the lookout for a pair of decent (for the price anyway) headphones for around £100.
Can anybody suggest anything?
Cheers!!

IS there anything else in disrepair with your headphones aside from the
1/4" phone jack ? If not , Do you have any experience with a soldering iron ?
If so, pick a new phone jack and solder the thing on to the cable.
If there are other issues with your headphones and a new pair is what is needed … I'd suggest AKG or Sennheiser

Hi lcmorley.
Personally I wouldn't go past the Sennheiser HD Series. I have the 500 series myself, but they cost hundreds.
Try this.

Or if you can stretch your budged a little more.

You can search the forum for other opinions but Sennheiser headphones always come up as being the popular choice. They have a super flat response so they won't colour the sound.

I can say I ad your same type of quest for good headphones and I picked up the ones below and I never looked back. Excellent headphones and with the OAsys they are beautiful.

Hey Ic,
I have the 280's and they are sweet....BUT, they are very tight. At first it doesn't really feel uncomfortable but after a while---> ouch! If you have a really small head (lol) it wont be an issue. The benefit to the snug fit they provide is that they really do isolate you to your music. The FR speaks for itself and they sound awesome! I usually revert to using my AKG 240's because they sound a little better in my opinion and they are superbly comfortable. I may spend 8-12 hours at a time in a headset and the AKGs never bother me. I have about a 2 hour threshold in the Sennheisers before my head is aching...and no I don't have a giant Jack-o-Lantern head...lol!
I should add this: I stumbled on something about the AKG's that I didn't read...I just scanned it quickly and as I recall the 240's are either discontinued or heading that direction. (I might have seen that in a newsgroup...can't remember for sure.) If that info is correct it is a real shame! Oh, and this too: I bought my first AKG 240's in 1984 and only replaced them when I bought my Oasys and some other gear in the summer of 2007. The only reason I had to retire them was that the cushions were starting to crack and crumble.
Oh yeah, one more thing....try these out ----->

(I think they are AKG's...hehehe)
All the best,
UCanDream
