Simultaneously playing M3 and Radias

I"m getting a Radias for Christmas, and i'm gonna install it next to my M3 on the rack, but I just wanted to make sure, the M3 keybed sends note data, pitch info...blah blah...all that stuff through both outputs at the same time right? so technically, if I wanted to play a program on the M3 module, in conjunction with a patch on my Radias, that would work fine right?
Another very simple question, I could look up the dimensions if I really felt like it, but someone here can answer it without a prob. With my M3 module, and Radias next to eachother, if I push them all the way down to one end, is there still enough room on the other side for say... a laptop? I know i'll have to cut off a little of one of those metal "filler" plates...
