Hi! Just got my M50, now a question about additional sounds

Hello! I just got my M50 Monday and have figured out most of what I need to know since I've had a triton in the past, it was pretty much the same....I was able to load the vintage synths and the triton conversion which was GREAT!...Special thanks to whoever converted that....I was surprised to see there isn't more conversions from the M3 though...I know it uses samples but surely there were different patches that didn't use samples when they introduced the Xpanded pack....Finally, back to the Triton, does anyone know how those pcg's were converted because I tried downloading triton pcg's and importing them into the M50 but it doesn't see the file....I'd love to get the romance piano and some of the guitar patches...I know it's a different engine but I was pleased with the other converted patches that I'd like to convert some of the others....So far, I'm pretty happy with the M50 as an additional synth....Thanks!....moon

The M50 and M3 won't read patches from the Triton series.

There is no patch conversion software at the moment--any sounds you like from the Triton would have to be reprogrammed manually on the M50.

There's nothing to convert from the M3. You can download any .pcg for the M3 and load it on your M50 - no hassle. As long as the sounds aren't sample-based or don't use the expanded sets (most do not), you're fine. This was the reason I bought an M3 *AND* and M50. So I can move patches back and forth.

Actually, the download areas of the M3 and M50 are pretty lame: either people are jealous / selfish of sharing custom made patches or there's not too much creativity out there.

Speaking of which, once I finish tweaking my combis for our "Genesis When In Caracas" tour, I plan to upload them up to the M50 download section.
