Hi, my setup Apple 10.5.8, imac 2.66,

I am using my kp3 as a midi controller, with various daws, albeton etc..
I have it set up using usb and not standard midi cables. I find that it seems to drop off from connection, when i dont use / touch it for 5 mins. It works when i touch it.

So when i go to my audio / midi setup, it is greyed out. Until i either switch on or off or refresh / rescan the audio / midi
setup.

Anyone else having this problem? tbh i havent used the midi cable route yet instead of usb. but will give this a try. I also have a launchpad, slmk2 on usb aswell (with no problems ) from them.

anyone else who looks this up ' re' kp3 midi not found etc..for me , it was down to having too many ports. i switched my unitor 8 (has 8 ports ) off and that solved the issue.

hope this helps someone.

Thanks for the info.. I feel less lonely ;)
But unfortunately that's not a real solution, isn't it.
We can't drop half of our equipment...

Did you try the Sysex filtering thing and reconnecting your unitor?

Sorry it's the thread just underneath this one...

I'm so pissed with this controller...
I'm thinking of selling it and getting one of the nanopad thingy.
But if they run with the same "quality" drivers and editor, forget it.

You may be able to switch only some of the ports in your Unitor off as a compromise.

i did actually do the sys ex thing back when i had read about it before..but turning off the unitor solved it. Shame KP3 doesnt play fair with everything else and Unitor has become redundant anyhow with the onset of USB.

If you have any ports free, you should be able to connect your KP3 via traditional MIDI 5-pin DIN. Even if you have another interface that doesn't drop out when used with your other gear, at least you'll still be able to use the KP3 as a controller.
